charismatischer Jazz- und Gospelsänger, Dozent, Stimmbildner, Chorleiter, Musical-Darsteller Sozialprojekt-Manager. Seine Bescheidenheit, prachtvolle Stimme und sein außergewöhnliches Talent setzen einen hohen Standard für jetzige und künftige Künstler. Er studierte Musik an der "Brunel University", wo er den angesehenen Sheridan-Preis gewann. Neben seinen Hauptberuflichkeit als Dozent und Dirigent tritt er regelmäßig live im britischen Fernsehen mit zahlreichen bekannten Persönlichkeiten aus der Gospel- und säkularen Szene wie Sir Elton John, Candy Staton, Ron Kenoly, Graham Kendrick, Tom Jones, Gloria Gaynor, Robert Palmer und vielen anderen. Während seiner Zusammenarbeit mit dem weltbekannten London Community Gospel Choir und anderen Preisträgern entwickelte er seine Stimme auch in Richtung "Jazz and Opera" , die ihm die Türen zu einer weltweiten Reisetätigkeit öffnete. Er leitet Workshops und große Gospelprojekte europaweit z.B. in Frankreich, Italien, Russland, Ukraine, Polen und Skandinavien bis zu mit 600 Sängern. 2005 gründete er in Manchester das "Sing out project" Daraus entwickelte sich ein starker und exzellenter Chor "Manchester Inspirational Voices". Seine Musik ist geprägt durch den persönlichen christlichen Glauben. 2017 gewann er mit seinem Chor und dem Gospelsong "Sing low" den landesweiten BBC Contest in London den 1. Preis. (Wir gratulieren vom Herzen!) 

Kurze Zeit später erschien sein neues Solo-Album mit wunderschönen Jazzballaden "UNFORGETTABLE".

Er begeisterte 2019 mit seiner Stimme die britische Nation in der populären TV-Sendung "The Voice UK" im Team von Tom Jones. Er ist Mitglied und Solosänger des weltberühmten, Londoner Gospelchores "The Kingdom Choir" mit dem er 2018 bei der königlichen Hochzeit sang und mehrere Welt-Tourneen u.a. nach Japan, USA und Australien unternahm.

Gerald T. Smith has established a national and international reputation as a commendable and versatile musician. He has performed with such artists as Stephanie Mills, Dorian Harewood, Reginald Vel Johnson, George Faison, Larry Storch, Shirley Caesar, V. Michael McKay, Evangelist Dorothy Norwood, Pastor Beverly Crawford, Minister Byron Cage, Lady Tramaine Hawkins, Dottie Peoples, Lamar Campbell, Richard Smallwood, the late Rev. Donald Vails, the late Albertina Walker, the late Thomas Whitfield, the late Rev. James Cleveland, Carola, and a host of other reputable artists. 

Over the years, many of his original compositions have been recorded by various artists such as, The University of Maryland Gospel Choir, The Jubilee Majestic Concert Choir, Rev. Donald Vails, Kefaas Gospel Choir (Copenhagen, Denmark), The Gospel Music Workshop of America Mass Choir, Patrick Lundy & The Ministers of Music, and Youth -N- Praise.

Mr. Smith’s accomplishments also include: first European appearance as guest clinician in Copenhagen, Denmark (1994); guest accompanist, African American History Month Commemorative Mass for the Archdiocese of New York City (St. Patrick’s Cathedral); performances for two Presidential Inaugural ceremonies; musical director, George Faison’s “Sing, Mahalia, Sing” (Germany and Switzerland tour); musician for the Broadway musical, “Purlie” (Kennedy Center); guest musician for workshop/concert in Dublin, Ireland (1998); performances with over 30 singers in Jordan, Israel, and Egypt (March 2000); original song titled, “This Is The Day” was published by the internationally known publishing company Boosey and Hawkes, Inc. (2000); guest musician/composer in Houston, Texas (American Choral Directors Association Regional Division Convention (2002); guest musician for concert with Liz Mc Comb in Paris, France at the Eglise Saint-Sulpice (May 2002); guest conductor/clinician for numerous gospel music workshops in various parts of Poland (October 2002 - 2012); guest clinician in Perugia, Italy (May 2007); guest clinician in Bottrop, Germany (2006 - 2016); performances in Burkina Faso, West Africa (December 2007); guest clinician in Helsinki, Finland (2013 & 2018); guest clinician in Vilnius Lithuania (November 2017); guest clinician in Sweden (2011 - 2018); guest clinician in Åland Islands, Finland (2018); performed for numerous occasions at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; and his original song titled, “Come On In” was published in the new African American Ecumenical Hymnal, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism (2018). 

Since February 2023, Gerald has a part-time position as a church musician in Immanuel Church in Skövde, while at the same time working to spread and strengthen gospel music in Sweden through the Swedish Gospel Workshop.
